Facebook is an excellent tool for social networking. It has done such things as aid in reuniting lost friends and family members and help people who are far distances apart, maintain some sort of relationship over the web. Social networking sites such as Facebook can also provide a professional boost, when monitored and used correctly. Just as with everything else in life, there are proper and improper practices when using sites such as Facebook. This is due to the fact that because we often include all of our personal information on Facebook, it is that easy for potential employers or customers to access this information as well.

Here are a few simple tips to keep you in the clear:

Photos: Make sure that photos you post as well as photos that others tag you in are tasteful. Be mindful that your pictures are a direct reflection of who you are as a person to those who may not know you outside of Facebook. It’s perfectly fine to party and have a good time, but every picture is not worthy of posting.

Language: Using vulgar language on Facebook is definitely not good practice. As Scarlet stated before, Facebook is a direct reflection of you as a person and you do not need to swear in order to emphasize how much fun you had last night, or how much someone or something annoys you.
